Please vote!

Should I beg, grovel, plead???  I have never tried to win a contest getting people to vote on facebook so bear with me here.  It's a little like being a salesman (which I stink at.... but I can be sold almost anything though!).

If you want to be a friend :) and vote just go to your facebook and look up Ivory Homes and click that you 'like' the site.  Then find the 2010 Gingerbread House Contestants and click on that and you will see all the entries.  Mine is number 41 and when you double click on it you just scroll down and click 'like' again at the bottom.

Thanks a million for your support and I promise not to bug you about any more contests... at least until next year at this time!

Tis the season...

Well, here are some pics of my gingerbread creations....... sorry, the picture of our entry in this years festival was taken when it was unfinished.  It is a 'smurf ' house in the base of a tree and turned out adorable but I forgot to take a picture of the finished deal.  Anyone have one they can e mail me?

This first one is for the Ivory Homes gingerbread contest.  Vote for me on facebook! (Dec. 16- 21)
This cute & little one will be given away in a drawing at Santaquin City Library!
That last one is a replica of our city library and it was jinxed from the start!  Can you see how the frosting is missing on the front?  Guess I got it a little dry and it just began popping off.  Then, when it was sitting on the kitchen counter, 'someone' spilled water on it so we had to cover that spot up with bushes.  Lastly, I didn't get the candy sugar windows up to a high enough temp. so they are dripping... slowly dripping.  Oh well, it was a freebie, so 'YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR'.

Guess who ???

The Best of the best...

It was tough to narrow it down, but here goes...

This is Gwen and Eli as Popeye & Olive Oil......... my personal favorite!

Halloween bash

Another great party at the Caldwell's!  The food was amazing.......... the costumes outrageous and the noise level was nuts!  This year there were more people than ever and it was hard to get on the dance/garage floor to shake your bootie.  Check out the photos for yourself...

Sorry, I was holding the flip camera wrong... oops!

Token canning...

I put up pears last night.  Seven jars.  Whoopee!

Hey, for me that is something.  I can sew all the live-long day, but I detest canning.  I would almost rather sit through a Chuck Norris movie, but not quite.  And since both things make Brad happy, I choose the fruit.  Next week it's peaches.  If I ration them out right (one jar every 2.5 weeks) by next summer there will still be a couple left.

So here's to small victories.  And here's to enjoying the best time of year... fall!  Apple pie, cool nights and warm days, Halloween, falling leaves and flowers having a grand finale.  I love it.

Here is the newest 'love of my life'....  Claire!
Isn't she cute?!

The classic prank

Here is the kid cracking himself up with the old "fake snake in a can" prank.  An oldie but goodie!

Anyone for a peanut?

Well, it's been a while.  I went on a computer fast and I feel like it was a good thing.  Part of the reason is that I was busy with... Life.  I want to share a picture of the wedding dress I made for my neice, Marnae.  She looks adorable, don't you think?

Charles Krauthammer

Did you read the article by Charles Krauthammer in Monday's Daily Herald titled Ungovernable? Nonsense?  It is amazing, as are most of his columns.  Check it out if you are a political junkie like me, or even if you're not.
